The definition of polyamory is 'many loves'. What this means to each individual is different. There is no One True Way to do or be polyamorous. I have links to several different pages about poly so you can go and look at how other people define poly for themselves.
Polyamory to me is being able to freely develop romantic relationships with more than one person. These relationships don't all necessarily have to be sexual. It's the deep emotional intimacy that I desire. Poly is certainly not for everyone nor is it more 'evolved' or advanced. It's just a different way of thinking about relationships.
